Singer-songwriter,
TV personality and
businessman Peter Andre proves
that he is much more than just a pretty
face as he brings his experiences of
both his own upbringing and those he
has had with his children to create
the first in a series of paperback books
for young children with Ladybird, A New Day At School and The Happy
Birthday Party...
THE MULTI-TALENTED PETER ANDRE now has another string to his bow
that of a children's book contributor. In collaboration with Ladybird,
he has created two very appealing little books: A New Day At School and
The Happy Birthday Party. More will follow.
Sharing the experiences of his own childhood and also those he has enjoyed with
his children, Peter tells a simple story that youngsters can relate to. The
age given for both books is from birth up to three, but four- and five-year-olds
also respond well to the stories.
A New Day At School takes children through the process of both starting
school and going back to school to start a new class. Using names from his family
and himself, Peter shows how Peter and Debbie who are themselves changing
classes support a nervous Mike on his first day ever at pre-school. School
is shown as an exciting place in which to meet new friends and catch up with
the old ones. Children starting school will get reassurance and a positive feeling
about school from this book.
The
Happy Birthday Party encourages children to become involved with the preparations
for a sibling's birthday party. It teaches children about sharing; taking delight
in giving to others and the importance of friendship.
Along with the interaction of children, seeking snails and strawberries throughout
the book, Peter Andre has created a great way to connect with children. The
books are absorbing and fun, reflecting Peter's love for storytelling and his
role as a father.
The books are well-written by Sarah Fabiny, as told to his children by Peter
Andre, and beautifully illustrated by Kath Grimshaw. Children will listen to
them time and time again.
Published by Ladybird Books (A Penguin Company), Peter Andre's A New Day
At School and The Happy Birthday Party are both available in paperback
from 1 September 2011 at an RRP of £4.99 each.

About Peter Andre
BORN IN LONDON in 1973, Peter moved with his family to Australia when he
was six years old. By the time he reached his early teens he had written his
first song and at 16 he appeared on a television talent show, securing a recording
contract.
Peter sold millions of records in Australia and not long afterwards he moved
back to the UK and became the first Australian male artiste to debut at Number
1 with Flava. Having secured his success over here in the UK with Mysterious
Girl, Peter went on to appear in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here
on 26 January 2004.
There his romance with Katie Price flourished and they married in 2005. Katie's
son Harvey had gained a stepfather and Katie had two more children, Junior and
Princess, with Peter. Sadly they separated in May 2009 and Peter now lives in
Brighton.
As a child, Peter Andre loved going to primary school with his friends, but
he acknowledges that some children get very nervous with change and has created
the A New Day At School in a positive and reassuring way.
