Turtle Ice Liquid Clay BarTurtle Wax has made
‘shining up’ your car as
easy as I-C-E...

BUYING A CAN OR BOTTLE OF WAX for your car used to be a simple affair. For today's hard-pressed motorist, whose time is at a premium, it's anything but. There simply isn't time to read about and try every single product that promises to easily out-shine all the others.

Fortunately Turtle Wax has come up with the an easy answer with its Ice Range comprising Ice Synthetic Liquid Wax, Ice Liquid Claybar and Ice Total Interior Care.

MotorBar recently put the Ice Range to the test, kicking off with the Ice Liquid Claybar (500ml: £14.99). Turtle Wax has taken claybar technology a step forward with the Ice Liquid Claybar, which has been designed to thoroughly deep clean the surfaces being prepared before a wash, removing old wax, bugs and tree sap, as well as cutting through oxidation and swirl marks to leave a flawless finish for the application of ICE Synthetic Polish.

Using the claybar is the first step to giving your car that elusive 'wet look' shine. Using the Liquid Claybar is about as easy as it gets. Rinse off the car then apply the liquid claybar to a section of the bodywork at a time, using the sponge applicator provided, and working with a back and forward motion. Afterwards simply rinse off the section with cool water and towel dry.

Turtle Ice Liquid WaxStep two for that smooth-as-glass finish is to apply the Ice Synthetic Liquid Wax (500ml: £12.99, including Ice applicator and microfibre cloth.). This liquid wax can be used on all external surfaces of a car for a brilliant shine for all paint types and metallic finishes. And unlike some traditional car waxes, it does not leave behind any unsightly white powdery residue.

Application is about as effortless as it gets: using the sponge provided, spread a thin coat over the entire car. Let it dry to a haze (about 3-5 minutes) then use the cloth to remove any excess polish before turning it over and buffing to a high gloss shine. That's it.

We treated a number of cars, old and new — even roping in a local second-hand car sales garage — and each was completed in record time without raising too much of a sweat!

Turtle Ice Interior CareTo complete the 'showroom' look for your car you'll need the Ice Total Interior Care (500ml: £8.99). We used this spray-on cleaner on just about every surface in the interior. And it did exactly what it said on the label: removed dust, sticky fingerprints and even stains on the mats and trim. Even better, there were no smears and the interior looked as new rather than that fake 'varnished' look that some products generate.

Turtle Wax's new Ice treatment is the best 'wax 'n' go' product MotorBar has tried — it's the quickest and easiest to use, and it smells good too! We clean so many cars before photo-shoots that 'waxing' is definitely not our favourite job. But these new fast-finish products from Turtle Wax made 'shining up' the cars a pleasant task — a brilliant range of products for a brilliant finish.

Bugatti Veyron to wow the crowds at Pageant Of Power...

IT COSTS NEARLY A MILLION POUNDS
— if you can get on the waiting list — tops 250mph and has over 1,000bhp — and it's coming to the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power!

The Bugatti Veyron is simply one of the greatest supercars of all time and a rare sight even in Monte Carlo or Hollywood. "We are absolutely delighted that Bugatti are bringing the Veyron to Cholmondeley," said Event Director James Hall. "This year we are celebrating all things Bugatti as Lord Cholmondeley's grandfather was a friend and customer of Etorre Bugatti and the cars were once a common sight around here. We already have lots of older Bugattis on the entry list but having the Veyron here really will make this a special event for us."

Bugatti Veyron

Bugatti are just one marque among many at the second Pageant of Power to be held at Cholmondeley Castle on July 18th and 19th.

Historic and competition cars from the 1920s right up to date will feature on both days.

In addition to the action on the track, the air will be crowded with in excess of 150 helicopters making this the UK's biggest gathering.

There will be a flypast of historic aircraft including both a Spitfire and a Seafire while on the Mere inshore powerboats will compete for the coveted Breitling Trophy.

To complete a great family weekend, the Saturday evening will see the annual Cholmondeley Fireworks Concert while military support will include marching bands and the Army's Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank.

This year tickets are being restricted in the popular 'Paddock Enclosure' and only those bought in advance will guarantee access. A new lower tier ticket price of £15 has been introduced for the 'Park', which will make the event one of the best value days out this summer.

Škoda officially introduces its
fifth model line and enters the
crossover segment
...

THE FIRST Škoda Yeti rolled off the assembly line at Škoda's Kvasiny, Czech Republic plant on Tuesday 12 May 2009. With the start of series production, Škoda has officially introduced its fifth model line and entered the crossover segment.

Škoda has designed Yeti as it does all its models — for the way people use cars. Clever solutions include the flexible and practical VarioFlex rear seat system, which also makes it easy to increase Yeti's carrying capacity to as much as 1,760 litres.

Skoda Yeti

Earlier, Škoda performed a number of final pre-production tests.

One of the last test stages took place in the area around Oslo, Norway, which offered a variety of road surfaces similar to those seen in all European countries and most of the key regions outside Europe.

The test team used the diversity of roads and weather conditions to check some of the key systems, such as the driving stability system, ventilation and air conditioning system performance.

The tests provided valuable information about the interaction between the respective control units, the chassis parameters and acoustic comfort, as well as the characteristics of the off-road systems.

The vehicles tested in Oslo were a 1.8 TSI petrol and a 2.0 TDI diesel, both 4x4 models. The drivers tested the vehicles' behaviour on forest roads, as well as on an extreme downhill course using the 'downhill assistant', a new function enabling the driver to go down extremely steep hills in complete control.

Thanks to its higher ground clearance (180mm) and fourth-generation Haldex clutch system, the Yeti offers exceptionally good on-road as well as off-road driveability.

Add in low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions and Yeti gives today's drivers exactly what they require: economical running costs, outstanding flexibility, great practicality, and less impact on the environment — the hallmarks of a crossover vehicle.

The Yeti is a modern, smart crossover vehicle with a fresh attitude and compact dimensions: wheelbase: 2,578mm; length: 4,233mm; width: 1,793mm; height: 1,691mm.

Combining 4x4 strengths with hatchback practicality, Yeti is scheduled to go on sale in the UK in mid-September.
